Application forms for the Black River Falls Area Foundation grants are now available at the Jackson County Bank or online at www.brfareafoundation.org. Any non-profit organization in Jackson County may apply for a grant. Applications will be accepted April 1 through May 15.
The Foundation awards grants only to non-profit organizations within Jackson County. Grant applications are evaluated with consideration to the Foundation’s policies, funding objectives and mission, which is to enhance the quality of life in the Black River Falls area. A copy of the organization’s tax exempt status is required.
General categories of support include education, health services, cultural activities, social services and civic projects.
Grants to be considered are those that meet charitable needs of a new or innovative nature to fulfill unmet needs; one-time projects; capital improvements; equipment needs; start-up expenses; special programs; and emergency funding. Requests to support endowments, operating expenses, debt repayment, religious purposes, individuals, and lobbying expenses are usually discouraged.
The selection of the grant recipients is made by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees who are Todd Anderson, Mike Dougherty, Ron Danielson, Dave Hoffman, John Hogden, Gil Homstad, Jean Lee, Sue Michaelson, Dave Millis, Fred Stai and Mary O’Brien.
