To: Editor From: Mary O’Brien 284-1337 Date: January 25, 2010 For Immediate Release, Please At the Black River Falls Area Foundation’s Annual Strategic Planning Meeting on December 15th at the Skyline Clubhouse, one incumbent trustee, Sue Michaelson, was unanimously re-elected to a third three-year term on the board of trustees. Trustees Todd Anderson and Mary O’Brien had completed three consecutive three-year terms and were not eligible for re-election. Gil Homstad thanked Anderson and O’Brien for their many years of dedicated service to the Foundation and presented each a recognition gift, a large crystal bowl with their name and terms etched on the glass. Elected to succeed them were Eric Chrisinger, President/CEO of the Co-op Credit Union in Black River Falls and Kay Finch, co-owner, officer and director of Perry Creek Cranberry Corporation of Black River Falls. Both have a long history of involvement and service on many community committees and boards. The following officers were re-elected to their positions: Gil Homstad, chairman; Dave Hoffman, vice chairman; Sue Michaelson, secretary; and Mike Dougherty, treasurer. The Foundation’s eleven-member volunteer board of trustees reflects a variety of community interests and involvement. They oversee the investment of donor funds and the distribution of grants to worthy causes in accordance with donors’ intentions. Trustees serve a three-year term of office, with a maximum of three consecutive three-year terms. They serve without compensation and are selected for their judgement, integrity, and understanding of philanthropic needs.
