What is FRIENDS of the Foundation?

FRIENDS of the Foundation is an annual giving and recognition program of the Black River Falls Area Foundation.

Each FRIENDS contribution helps build the resources available for the Foundation’s next annual grant program. Through that grant cycle, nonprofit organizations serving Jackson County can apply for funding to support projects, programs, equipment, services, and other community needs.

Your gift joins the generosity of individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who believe in investing in the communities we share.

Helping Good Work Happen Close to Home

FRIENDS donations help provide funding for the Foundation’s annual competitive grant program.

In the 2026 Annual Grant Program, $150,367 was awarded to nonprofit organizations and community projects throughout Jackson County. Funding supported a wide variety of needs, including education, youth programs, public safety, community services, recreation, food assistance, childcare, local facilities, and more.

Giving That Grows With You

The Foundation recognizes the generosity of FRIENDS donors through a permanent recognition program.

Recognition is based on cumulative giving to the FRIENDS program, allowing donors to advance through recognition levels as their support grows over time.

Donors to this fund with be recognized in the annual report for their household lifetime giving and in the categories listed below.
