Black River Falls, WI — The Black River Falls Area Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Anneliese Eddy as its next Executive Director!  Eddy was selected following a competitive search that included five highly qualified candidates and will officially begin her tenure on March 2, 2026.

Eddy brings a strong record of leadership, community involvement, and nonprofit service to the role. A Black River Falls resident, she is widely known for her work as co-founder and president of the Black River Area Foster Closet, Inc., as well as her leadership in major local fundraising initiatives, including projects supporting the All-Abilities Playground and ongoing community improvements at Marks Field. She currently serves on the City of Black River Falls Planning Commission and remains actively involved in several local boards and volunteer efforts.

Her appointment comes at an important moment for the Foundation, following the Board of Trustees’ recent adoption of a Strategic Roadmap that outlines a clear vision for the Foundation’s futureemphasizing the strengthening of internal operations and governance, growing charitable assets, enhancing grantmaking practices, and expanding the Foundation’s role as a trusted community leader.

“Anneliese is a relationship-driven leader with deep ties in our community,” said Brad Chown, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees. “Her experience, collaborative approach, and passion forstrengthening local connections and services align perfectly with the strategic direction the Board has set.”

Eddy succeeds Julie Murray, who has served as Executive Director since 2011. Under Murray’s leadership, the Foundation experienced significant growth, expanded scholarship and grantmaking programs, strengthened donor services, and modernized operations through new technology and strategic planning initiatives.  While Murray will be semi-retiring, she will continue her involvement with the Foundation as a mentor to Eddy and will remain on staff as Operations Specialist, supporting operational continuity and knowledge transfer during the transition.
